Workshop Gamification

To support employee motivation to increase ergonomics in automobile handling, gamification elements are used to generate additional motivators for wearing an exoskeleton. Currently, a concept is being developed that will inform employees about their ergonomics and development progress in the form of an app. The analysis includes, for instance, the use frequency of the exoskeleton, as well as the resulting load savings and general posture conditions. The ergonomics analysis is also linked to rewards to provide additional incentive to wear the exoskeleton and improve the own ergonomics. Here, employees can exchange their accumulated ergonomics points for drinks, snacks, or entire meals in the cafeteria.

To obtain initial feedback for the developed concept and app design, a workshop was held at BLG in Bremerhaven. Here, a wide variety of stakeholders – automotive mechantronics engineers, warehouse staff, team leaders, technicians – used and discussed the usefulness and user-friendliness of the developed concept. Based on the participants positive feedback, the app will be further designed and the implementation on a smartwatch pursued. The following pictures give an insight into the developed app.
