With the goal of improving ergonomic work practices in warehouse logistics, a sensor system that can be integrated into exoskeletons was developed at BIBA, in combination with a gamification app. The basic idea is to promote ergonomic behavior through rewards. The exoskeleton is equipped with multiple sensors that can detect and evaluate the movements of the wearer. The movement data, along with ergonomic evaluations, can be viewed directly in a smartphone app.
Ergonomic work is rewarded through the app, where users can collect points that can be redeemed for real rewards like snacks or drinks. The following video illustrates how the system works:
